| The
Diocese of Willochra is involved in mission with partner Anglican
Churches in the Pacific and Asia. We support the mission of the Church
through the Anglican
Board of Mission – Australia, the official organization of the
General Synod of Australia. (See www.abmission.org) |

in Mission through ABM-A |

Congregations
in Parishes and Ministry
Districts are encouraged to support a
particular project with ABM-A each year. It may be one involving
indigenous people in Australia or an overseas project involving church
support and development. An example of an indigenous project in
Australia is financial support for Wontulp Bi-buyu College in Cairns
which provides leadership education and theological study for indigenous
people. An overseas project might be one providing water and sanitation
for village people in the Philippines. ABM-A offers dozens of projects
from which congregations choose one or two they would like to support.
In this way they become a partner in mission with others in the Church.

Bishop Garry
Weatherill with Bishop Joe Kopapa from the Diocese of Popondota, PNG who
visited the Diocese of Willochra in March 2007. |
| People
in the Diocese of Willochra take great delight in hearing directly about
the mission of the Church overseas. When ABM-A brings overseas visitors
to our Diocese they are given a warm welcome and an opportunity to meet
many people. The awareness about mission through ABM-A is such that the
Diocese of Willochra gives generously. |

Other
Mission Support
|
| People in the Diocese
are also generous in their support of
the Bush Church Aid Society, working in remote and rural areas in
Australia. BCA provides
support for ministry in the remote mining towns of the Diocese –
Coober Pedy, Roxby Downs and Leigh creek and their outlying mission
areas. |
| The
Church Missionary Society also receives good support from many
congregations. Present Willochran missionaries overseas are Frances Cook
in Chile, Owen and Mary Lewis in Nepal and Grant and Janna Lock
in Afghanistan. The Diocese also supports the national Home Mission Fund
and is itself a recipient of NHMS funding.
