About
40 people filled the little
church
of
Saint Mark
at Blinman on Sunday 27th August for the 40th
Anniversary of the current church building. Past parishioners
returned, folk from
Leigh
Creek
travelled down to share the occasion, and a former Priest of the Parish
(Wayne Ireland and Cherylene) made the trip from Yea in
Victoria
to be part of the celebration. Bishop Garry spoke of the value to
the community of the visible presence of the building and of
the vitality of God’s people keeping faith alive in themselves
– the real dwelling place of the Holy Spirit.
After
worship, lunch was shared at the Blinman Hotel where the congregation
had prepared a display of memorabilia and messages from those unable to
be present .
