| Greeting
and Welcome: |
| Bishop's
Vicar. |
| Welcome
to our Service to celebrate the Feast of Lady Day. As we join together
in worship, like Mary before us, we glorify the Lord. We remember
our members throughout the world who celebrate this day with us,
and we give thanks for their commitment and their work. |
| Mary's
Magnificat is a justice-seeking journey. It is a pilgrimage of radical
social transformation, which calls all believers to stand up for the oppressed.
It is also a song of liberation and praise for the God who called
Mary out of her humble dwelling to be the mother of our Saviour. And
so we welcome all God's people to the celebration. |
| As
we sing the Magnificat a symbol/image of pilgrimage (eg a map, compass) and
a symbol/image of justice (eg weighing scales) will be placed before the
altar as part of the Magnificat story. |
