NOTICING
GOD'S PRESENCE |
|
Being
here at Camp Willochra offers each of us an opportunity to notice afresh
God's presence around
us - in the beauty of the natural world, in other people, through the
eyes of Scripture, in our worship
- and through reflecting on our own journey with God. You could also
read about Jacob discovering
God's presence. (Genesis 28.10 - 22). |
MOUNT
REMARKABLE
Think about
mountains in Scripture - Moses at the Burning Bush (Exodus 3.l-6), Jesus on
the Mount of Transfiguration (Luke 9.28-36). Read and reflect on these
passages.
When and
how has God "spoken" in your life? Has it been dramatic? How have you
responded? Could you have missed it? What is God asking of you? Where are
the places you find God's presence?

WHEAT AND
SHEEP
Think about
these two images in Scripture. Read John 10.1 -18 and spend some time
reflecting on Jesus as the Good Shepherd and you as one of His sheep. Is
it a good image for you? Is there another?
Read John
6.1 -15;22-58. Think about the Eucharist and consuming Jesus. Think about
how God comes to you in the ordinary, everyday things of life, like wheat
and wine. Is the Eucharist important to you? |

PEOPLE AND
COMMUNITY
You are
here at Camp Willochra with other people: how important are others in your
life? What place does solitude and silence have for you? Do you fear
these? What does it mean for you to be part of the Church, the Body of
Christ? How do you find balance between being alone with God and being
with others?
Read I Corinthians 12 - you are
part of that body; what is your spiritual gift for use within the Body of
Christ? How are you using it! |
