What happened at Time Out for Women
At Time Out for Women this year there were 21 children from 7 months to 13 years. There were 16 woman participants, and 8 ML) member hosts.
The weather was beautiful. Mount Remarkable was covered in dust on Friday, presumably from dust storms the previous days. The birds were lively making music.
The Reverend Prue O'Donovan and Jane Tanner, with other intermittent help, had their hands full with nineteen active children from three years up. There was a great fellowship of all ages between all ages.
The concert was compared by the children, who also put on most of the items.
The following are comments from the adults and children and MU members made at the thank you/comments session before lunch on the Sunday. Not in any particular order just as I noted them as we went around the room. "Thank you to all who came, and all who helped."... "Great weekend. Thanks to everyone. Fantastic meeting new people"...
"Enjoyed the opportunity to learn new craft things. Loved meeting young people. Thank you for being so passionate and caring." ..."Thanks to the cooks for the good food. Lovely spot to enjoy a camp."..."Loved having a rent a choir on hand."..."Loved meeting the mums and children, loved being here."..."Many, many thanks to MU for hosting the camp."..."Lovely playing with new friends."... "Had a good time."..."Thanks for the welcome and a chance to relax. Never been to such an unstructured weekend.
Really enjoyed the bird walk and Wally's instructions and information about the environment. Good things to do."..."Thanks to Jane and Prue for looking after the children. Thanks to all the beautiful people."..."Congratulations to the children for all getting on so well together."..."My children loved having others to play with as soon as they stepped outside the door of our room."..."Loved the pottery, and making all sorts of things, and putting on the concert."..."Good to catch up with people I met last year. Thanks for all the help with my 7 months old grandson."... "Thanks for teaching embroidery, now I have a new hobby. Really enjoyed the weekend."..."Organising the concert was the best."... "My biggest thanks to Gail for cards. Thanks to Susie for asking me to come. Not long enough."... "I liked making cards and doing pottery."..."Great to have a chance to sleep in."...
"Really enjoyed seeing the children enjoy themselves."... "Thoroughly enjoyed it. I did card making, and embroidery, which I didn't think I could do. Great that MU members could nurture the mothers here."..."Thanks for inviting me here."..."Loved making the great bead Christmas decorations. Thank you."... "Thanks for the time to read a whole series of books."..."Like playing with the other children, ... with Ned, ...with Lachlan."..."Liked the drama and music."..."Liked going to the mountain, playing, and the concert was good."... "Played hide and seek." Some of the comments such as appreciation of the cooks and their food were repeated many times. As well as thanks to MU for hosting the weekend. Rosalind Bascombe
