| The annual MU-hosted Retreat held at Camp Willochra at Melrose attracted
women from each of the diocese in the Province of South
Australia. The retreat was held from Friday evening until mid-morning on
Sunday. Dorothy Thorpe, the Diocesan Ministry Development Officer
for Willochra conducted the retreat. There were times of listening, meditating, praying, relaxing
and walking in the magnificent, peaceful surrounds of Mount Remarkable. |
| The adopted theme for MU in 2007 in this Diocese is /Expanding
Horizons. |
| /Christians are committed to a Living Faith which necessitates/ /a
willingness to adapt to the ever changing world in which we live.
Through guided meditations those present were encouraged to consider
their own /limited horizons/ and to search out those things which
prevented them from being truly free. The limitations of human behaviour
stand out in stark contrast to the /Limitless God /who longs to shower
his people with everything that is good. God's willingness to give, is
for all people to receive. |
The story of Nicodemus tells of this man's dis-satisfaction with his life
and how he sought out Jesus because of his restlessness.
Subsequently, his transformed life lead him to develop a
ministry of his own. |
| This pattern of transformation in individuals has the potential to
transform communities as the vision of each disciple of Jesus is
extended to more distant horizons. |
| These retreats are open to all people. The next retreat hosted by MU in
Willochra will be in May 2008. More details available nearer the time. |
