Paul and the Gospel

The Early Church and the Gospels
The Attempt to Harmonize I: Tatian the "heretic"
The Endorsement of Diversity
The Attempt to Harmonize II: Monochrome (Matthean) Reading of the Gospels
Learning to Read "synoptically" allows for dependence on sources without requiring that the material be understood "identically": synoptic & identity.
The Value of Synoptic Readings I: the parables (Parable of the Mustard Seed)
The Value of Synoptic Readings II: the miracles (Parable of the Paralytic)
Conclusions: the canon of the NT canonises diversity.
The good news hits the ground of people's lives in different ways.
The good news has hit the ground in different ways and given us Matthew, Mark, Luke and John AS BASIC READINGS OF THE GOSPEL.
These gospels speak with different voices, with different accents, with different interests.
AND they give us permission to continue to explore diversity.
